Hi everyone

What a fantastic start to 2016!

Thank you for your patience in what was a slightly delayed start to the Term with invoicing. All invoices have been sent/handed out in classes and are now due to be paid – if you have not received an invoice, please contact us ASAP. Now that our system is up and running, invoices will be sent out prior to the start of each coming term.

Good luck to Lilli Stanley and Shelby Lowe, who will be competing in multiple divisions of the Melton Dance Competitions at the end of March.

A very special good luck to Amilee Gibson, who will also be competing at Melton – her very first dance competition entry!

Chookas girls, we are sure that you will represent BMDS exceptionally well and do us very proud.

Fantastic February – Student Achievements

We have had many students working diligently on their technique and flexibility. We would like to recognise the following students for mastering a brand new skill in the month of February:

  • Ava Lopizzo – Left leg splits
  • Ebony Dale – Right & left leg mounts
  • Capri Cousins – Aerial
  • Molly Mullane – Left leg splits

We encourage all of our students to keep working hard on their flexibility and technique!

Parents in classes

Just a reminder that we ask all parents to please wait in the foyer, rather than coming in and watching classes (with the exception of pre-school classes). We do allow the parents of new students to watch for the first couple of lessons, however after that it makes it much easier for children to concentrate without the distraction of an audience.

Mid-Year Cabaret

This year’s cabaret will be taking place on Friday the 17th of June, at 6.00pm.

Tickets will go on sale on Monday the 16th of May and will cost $58.00 for adults and $38.00 for children. These prices include a 3 course meal as well as beer, wine and softdrink.

The cabaret is a fantastic opportunity for family and friends to come along and see your child dance – it’s a fun night out!

As per previous years, families will be unable to purchase tickets until Term 1 & 2 fees have been paid.

Stay tuned for notices with more information regarding the process of ticket purchase; these will be coming out next term.

If your child is not going to be involved in the mid-year cabaret, please inform all class teachers as soon as possible.

Thank you!

Last but not least, thank you!

The start of this year has been challenging taking over BMDS from Donna, whose shoes are very big to fill. She has always done such a fantastic job running the studio and I am sure that I will never stop learning from her.

This term my family have been so very helpful, but what has truly made it all worthwhile is the support that I have received from our very own little dance community. You guys, the parents and students, have been an endless source of support and seeing your many smiling faces each night as I enter the studio has made me very thankful.

I am looking forward to making many memories with you all!

Term 2 classes resume on Monday the 11th of April – Have a safe and happy Easter Break.

Warm Regards,

Hayley Inglis
